The icon customisation interface has been greatly improved not only to enhance the user-experience but also to elevate existing features and introduce some exciting new functionality.
Re-ordering fields is now as simple as drag-and-drop. Users can also move fields between tabs and include headers and spaces between fields.
Create New Custom Icons
Either by copying existing icons or starting from scratch, users can now create additional icons to further enhance your icon pallet.
Users will also have the ability to introduce additional rules for their icons including Field Validations and Field visibility Rules to streamline the data collection process and Colour Change Rules to aid understanding of a print fleet at first glance of a floor plan.
Updated Default Icon Customisation
Advancements to the default Icon Customisations include a new Specification tab with additional fields for device dimensions, and print technology.
Field visibility rules are also incorporated such that only relevant fields are available for completion. All fields marked as mandatory will now show a red border during data capture.
Conducting a print fleet audit using Asset DB has been made even more time-efficient with the introduction of automatically entered device capabilities and specification.
The Asset DB makes and models database has been expanded to include detailed specifications for models including duplex, colour and large paper capabilities, dimensions and print speeds to name but a few. Upon selecting a make and model users will notice these details completed immediately.
Device meter readings and volumes form the backbone of analysis and solution design within Asset DB. The newly introduced data preparation tab allows users to view and manage both meter readings and volumes in a single view. The Data Preparation tab will also become the new location for performing volume generation calculations.
New Volume Generation Assumption Sets
The introduction of the data preparation tab will also bring volume generation assumption sets. Existing assumptions including mono and colour volume split percentages as well as new assumptions catering for the Tri-Colour Meter Capability will be managed within assumption sets.
These can be assigned to assets on an individual or group basis allowing for a more precise volume calculation.
Asset DB can now fully incorporate devices set to offer tri-meter billing across the full toolset with the inclusion of tri-colour meter capability.
New meter reading fields have been added to the meter reading tab allowing data collectors to accurately capture the varying levels of colour volume.
Volume Generation calculations will now be performed on all colour levels. Where an accurate split of volume is not available, users will be able to make assumptions using the New Volume Generation Assumption Sets.
Within the TCO analysis, users can now create Tri-colour level cost per page contracts to ensure an accurate cost is calculated for such devices.
Users will notice a greater level of detail in the volume transfer window enabling them to transfer volume between all colour levels in solution design.
This allows users full flexibility with the types of devices they can include in solutions as well as more precise cost calculations and comparisons.
Users creating large volumes of TCO contracts can see this process greatly improved with the ability to import contracts in bulk. Using a simple Excel format template, Asset DB users can import all existing contract details into their TCO calculation. Upon import, Asset DB will create contract groups and contracts.
Users will also be able to export all existing contracts that have been created using the traditional, manual method.
The addition of a Serial number field in the export also allows contracts created using either method to be correctly assigned to your project assets.
Project, analysis and design backup and sharing capabilities have been greatly improved with the introduction of the Portfolio.
In addition to being able to export Solutions, TCO analyses and Green Analyses on an individual basis, users can now export multiple analyses and designs either with or without a project using the Portfolio.
Users will have full flexibility around which and how many items are exported together to ensure the correct combination is stored or passed on to another user.
Asset DB is now fully compatible with Windows 8 as well as Windows 7 and XP giving users increased flexibility with their choice of operating system.
The project synchronisation process has been improved with the addition of search and filter options in the Synchronise Project window. Users with an extensive list of projects will benefit by being able to find the required project more quickly and easily.
Project version values have now been separated into a new column to hep correctly identify the correct version of a project to synchronise.
Synchronise the Currently Open Project
To further speed up the project synchronisation process, users wishing to simply synchronise the project they have open in Asset DB can do so using the new Project > Synchronise option. This will upload and download all available changes in the project just as the traditional synchronisation process, bypassing the project list request.
